Kennall Vale is a woodland with fascinating remnants of its industrial past as a gunpowder factory. Located at Ponsanooth, it is now a nature reserve. The woods around the River Kennall are dotted with old granite ruins. Once, there were around fifty buildings, from stores to mills. A circular walk takes you up close to these remains, which are slowly being reclaimed by nature. The area is now home to Horseshoe bats and Dippers, among other species of flora and fauna.
